CEV: The First Gospel
ESV: The Protoevangelium
I will put enmity
between you and the woman,
and between your offspring
and her offspring;
he shall bruise your head,
and you shall bruise his heel.
(Genesis 3:15)
CEV Circle diagram 3: God promises a Rescuer. Adam and Eve believe God’s promise of a Rescuer and will one day be made good only, like God (so, they are shaded as we look ahead to that day). Their descendants must also believe if they would be rescued. However, Satan has permission to continue to deceive men. God clothes the couple, sends them out of the Garden of Eden, guards the way back, leaves the earth, and now dwells in heaven only. God’s great plan is that He, one day, will walk with man again on a new earth that is once again good only.
