In the Beginning
In the beginning,
God created the heavens
and the earth.
(Genesis 1:1)
CEV Circle diagram 1: It has been said that “a picture is worth a thousand words.” (That is a figure of speech called an idiom.) The human brain processes images much faster than text. Combining text with images can make the text easier to understand and remember. This is one of the reasons God so often uses figurative language.
This is the first of eleven circle diagrams. The shaded areas are regions of good only. An area that is not shaded is a region of evil. Adam and the woman (not yet named Eve) were created on Day 6, and all was very good (Genesis 1:31).
